In 2012, after ICANN opened the applications of New gTLD, Taipei City Government immediately apply the new generic top-level domain ". taipei".
After more than two years of efforts, .taipei has completed the authorization on October 24, 2014, wrote to the roots of domain name server and became landmarks in the Internet world.
